5 Best Golf Balls For Under 90 mph Swing Speed

For a swing speed under 90 mph, the key is playing a low-compression ball (usually under 70). This allows the ball to compress fully at impact, maximizing your distance and minimizing side spin for straighter drives.

Here are the 5 best golf balls for your swing speed:
    1. Callaway Supersoft Compression: ~38

Why it fits: The gold standard for slow swing speeds. It has an ultra-low compression core that feels incredibly soft and helps players with modest swing speeds get the ball airborne. It maximizes distance and is incredibly forgiving on off-center hits.

    2. Srixon Soft Feel Compression: ~60

Why it fits: An excellent value-for-money option that delivers eye-popping distance without feeling like a rock off the putter face. The core is formulated to launch high and spin low, making it a great anti-slice option.

    3. Titleist TruFeel Compression: ~60

Why it fits: Titleist's softest-feeling ball. It is specifically designed to provide distance and a soft feel for average and slow swing speeds. Players across Reddit and major testing platforms consistently recommend it for its reliable, straight flight and solid greenside control.

    4. TaylorMade SpeedSoft Compression: ~50

Why it fits: Designed explicitly for the everyday golfer, this 2-piece ball is built to feel incredibly soft while generating optimized launch conditions for moderate swingers. It balances a soft feel with strong, carry distance.

    5. Bridgestone e12 Contact Compression: ~65

Why it fits: This 3-piece ball features specialized contact dimples that increase the surface area between the club and the ball by 38%, resulting in better energy transfer. It helps slower swingers get a higher launch and straighter flight.
I've got to add my two cents here.

My swing speed hovers right around 90 mph, give or take a few mph, so I use a low compression ball, the Titleist AVX, Compression ~55, and I wouldn't trade it for any of the above. It fits my game perfectly.

Golf is a game of discovery, so go and discover the right ball for your game.

For a quick overview of why using a lower-compression ball is so important for unlocking distance when your swing speed is on the slower side, check out this video on YouTube: 5 Best Golf Balls for 90 MPH Swing Speed - Most Golfers Get This Wrong

One last thing for all of you - regardless of swing speed - that think they absolutely need to play Titleist ProV1's, it's compression is ~87, not good for average (90 mph - 95 mph) or slower swing speeds

Try finding the optimal ball for your game, you'll like it!
