Don't Buy This Product
I had been seeing a lot of social media ads for a cool looking gadget from STRIVON Golf (formerly Golfpod).
It was an extendable, collapsible tripod that fits in a golf bag, with an adjustable camera holder mount. The cost was around $100 all in.
That sounded pretty good and pretty convenient for my personal use, as well as for use with my lessons. So I ordered one.
I received it in a reasonable amount of time, and rushed to the range at my first opportunity to try it, and here's how that worked out.
- The extension locking rings felt and looked pretty flimsy.
- The three ground anchor feet looked a little too short.
- The bluetooth remote switch didn't work.
Luckily, nothing broke on my iPhone, thankfully my Otterbox Defender case did its job.
On May 20th, I emailed STRIVON, told them what happened, and asked them what their procedure was for a refund.
They replied with a return address and said:
"Please note that return shipping will need to be arranged and covered on your end. We recommend using a trackable shipping method to ensure safe delivery.
Once the item is received, we will proceed with the next steps."
So I shipped it back via UPS (another $20) on May 21st, supplied them with the tracking number as instructed, and it was delivered to them on May 28th.
I emailed them on June 6th, June 10th, and June 13th, and have never received a reply, apparently they've ghosted me!
Long story short, don't buy their product - it's poorly constructed and their customer service appears to be nothing but an AI ghost.
I've reverted back to my bulkier tripod with a magsafe head for my iPhone, and although it's bigger, it can withstand a hurricane.
What was I thinking? 😄 😄 😄
Don't try STRIVON, you won't like it!
