Top 5 Longest Golf Balls - For Your Swing Speed
I saw an interesting video from MyGolfSpy that researched golf balls for their distance off the tee for high, mid, and low swing speeds.
Here are their results after 4,500 shots, 60 hours of testing, and 37 models examined. Note that they found an astounding 31 yards of distance difference between the longest ball - the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash, and the shortest ball - the Inesis Tour 900!
High Swing Speed 105-120 mph
- Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash - 329.76 yds.
- Titleist Tour Speed - 327.62 yds.
- Bridgestone Tour B RX - 327.12 yds.
- Titleist Pro V1 - 326.77 yds.
- Srixon Z Star - 326.33 yds.
- Maxfli Tour CG - 284.48 yds. (MyGolfSpy Number 1 recommended ball)
- TaylorMade Tour Response - 284.22 yds. (Best scores in quality control)
- Bridgestone Tour B XS - 284.12 yds.

They also offered a couple of good tips:
- With robot testing, they found some major inconsistencies from some ball brands (no names given). So sometimes a wayward
flight IS the ball's fault.
- After you have settled on the right ball for you, always play that ball - it will insure consistency as much as anything else.
- Spin - Beware manufacturer's claims. Low spin off the driver and high spin off the wedge is not what they found in testing.If it spins high off the driver, it's going to be high spinning off the wedge too. And for the most part, if it's low spinning off the driver, it's not going to be high spinning off the wedge.
They also feel that golf ball fitting will become very popular in the future.
This study actually convinced me to try out some new brands, who knows - I might find something that works better than what I'm now playing.
