==================================================== Newsletter - Issue 56 Date 06/08/08 ==================================================== ==================================================== Equipment - Books - DVD's ==================================================== This is the last of the Path Pro information http://www.pathprogolf.com , but I had to share this story Last newsletter I expounded on the virtues of the Path Pro and subsequently several readers told me that they ordered but had to pay a $7.50 shipping charge. I then sent a short newsletter saying that you could expect a $7.50 shipping charge (still a great deal), and about 6 hours after I sent it out I had a reader email me to tell me that they just ordered through http://www.heartlandamerica.com and that there was no shipping charge. I sent an email to customer service at Heartland America to ask why there was a $19.99 charge, a $1.99 processing fee, and sometimes a $7.50 shipping charge. I had vested interest because I just broke one and needed either a replacement part, which is available through pathprogolf.com, or another whole unit. I was told that free shipping was hit or miss, and that whatever showed up as the total when you ordered online was the total due. I thought that it was interesting that they didn't offer my readers free shipping since it was found money so to speak through the newsletter promotion. I would have done that. I decided to buy another unit, but just for the heck of it I checked for availability and price at http://www.amazon.com They had them in stock and the price was $19.99, no processing fee, no shipping charge. I immediately ordered another one for myself. And here's the best part - the vendor handling the order for Amazon was - you guessed it - Heartland America! Go figure. ==================================================== TCT Quick Tips - Excellent Bobby Jones Quote ==================================================== When Bobby Jones was asked what he felt was the key to hitting long, straight drives, he said: "When at the top of the swing, most people want to pounce upon the ball with uncontrolled fury. The key is the leisurely start down, which provides a gradual build-up of speed without disturbing the balance or timing of the swing". Try it, you'll like it. ==================================================== Golf Tip : Toe Up to Toe Up ==================================================== If your ball flight (for righties) is starting out to the right too often, or if you are hitting fat or thin shots regularly, here's a great drill to practice. Actually it's my personal favorite because it ingrains hitting the ball forward with a good body turn, rather than trying to hit the ball upward.. Using a 7 iron, make easy half swings with the hands swinging about waist high. On this length back swing, the toe of the club should also point up, and on the forward swing the toe of the club should also point up. A normal weight transfer will allow you to release your back foot so the heel is off the ground and you're balancing on your toe on the follow through. If the toe of the club is not "up" on the back swing and follow through, look for corrections starting with the turn through of the body, then the grip, and then alignment. Don't try to manipulate a wrist hinge back and through, rather let a good body turn and good grip help that happen naturally. The toe up on the follow through indicates a good release at impact, one of the most important elements of the swing. You can do the drill with a golf ball, whiffle ball, BirdieBall, or in your back yard just clipping a tee instead of a ball. I'll give you my TCT Guarantee that if you do 25 reps of this drill 3 times per week, your ball striking will greatly improve. Then again, if you did 25 reps of any good drill 3 times per week you would probably get better at the game..................
